Celestron Omni 6 mm eyepiece Telescope 5 mm Black Silver
Celestron Omni 6 mm eyepiece Telescope 5 mm Black Silver
The Celestron Omni 6 mm eyepiece provides a 5 mm focal length in a compact form factor (77 mm × 42 mm × 42 mm) designed for detailed astronomical observations. Part of the Omni series, this eyepiece offers a 50° apparent field of view and a premium four-element optical design with multi-layer high-transmission coatings. Optical edges are blackened to improve contrast, and the aluminum body features a two-step anodized matte finish that reduces reflections. The eyecup is made of black rubber and can be used folded or unfolded to accommodate eyeglass wearers; the barrel is threaded to accept standard 1.25" filters.
The combination of a short 5 mm focal length and a 50° apparent field of view delivers higher magnification suitable for lunar and planetary detail while preserving a comfortable viewing field. Multi-layer coatings and blackened lens edges increase light transmission and contrast for sharper, clearer images. The anodized aluminum housing is lightweight, durable, and minimizes stray reflections during observations. A foldable rubber eyecup enhances eye relief options and comfort for users with and without glasses, and the threaded barrel offers compatibility with 1.25" filters for extended versatility.
Insert the Celestron Omni 6 mm eyepiece into a compatible 1.25" focuser or diagonal and secure it with the focuser thumbscrew. For higher magnification views of the Moon and planets, use this 5 mm eyepiece after achieving coarse focus with a low-power eyepiece. Fold the rubber eyecup down if you wear glasses, or leave it up to position your eye closer to the lens for maximum eye relief. If needed, thread a 1.25" filter onto the barrel before insertion or attach it while the eyepiece is mounted, taking care to re-focus after adding a filter.
Use the Omni 6 mm eyepiece on nights of steady atmospheric seeing for best results; high magnification is sensitive to turbulence. Begin observing with a low-power eyepiece to locate and center the target, then switch to the 6 mm for detail work. Clean optical surfaces sparingly with appropriate lens-cleaning tools and store the eyepiece in a protective case when not in use to preserve coatings and the anodized finish.
