Telescope adapter Celestron NexStar 4SE Black 65mm
Telescope adapter Celestron NexStar 4SE Black 65mm
The Celestron NexStar 4SE Black 65mm T-Adapter is an aluminum accessory engineered to connect an SLR or DSLR camera to the rear cell threads of a Celestron NexStar 4SE telescope or C90 spotting scope for prime-focus photography. With a black finish and compact dimensions (65mm width, 50mm depth, 50mm height), this adapter enables the telescope to be used as a telephoto lens, providing a direct mechanical connection between camera and optical tube for short-exposure imaging of terrestrial and celestial targets.
The adapter is made from sturdy aluminum for reliable alignment and long-term durability. Its form factor matches the rear cell thread of the NexStar 4SE, ensuring a secure fit and straightforward attachment. By allowing direct camera mounting, it eliminates the need for additional off-axis adapters or eyepiece projection for many prime-focus applications. The simple screw-on interface delivers repeatable positioning for consistent framing and focus when switching between imaging sessions.
Prepare a camera-specific T-ring for your SLR or DSLR (for example, Celestron T-Rings sold separately for Nikon or Canon). Remove the camera lens and attach the T-ring to the camera body as you would a lens. Remove any accessories from the telescope’s rear cell and screw the T-Adapter onto the rear cell threads until secure. Thread the T-ring and camera onto the T-Adapter and confirm the connection is tight and properly oriented. Use the telescope’s focuser to achieve focus; the camera will now use the telescope optics for imaging.
For best results, use a sturdy mount or tripod with the NexStar 4SE to minimise vibration during exposure. Select a camera T-ring that matches your camera brand. Start with short exposures for bright targets such as the Moon and terrestrial subjects, then experiment with tracking or stacking techniques for improved image quality of faint celestial objects.
