Icy Dock MB411SKO-B Mobile Rack for 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, Black, Metal
The Icy Dock MB411SKO-B is a high-durability, full-metal mobile rack designed to house a 2.5-inch SATA or SAS hard drive or SSD. Engineered for versatility, it fits into standard 12.7mm slim optical disk drive (ODD) bays or floppy disk drive (FDD) slots. Its rugged construction ensures longevity in demanding environments, while the EZ Slide Micro tray facilitates convenient hot-swapping for efficient drive maintenance. This ultra-low-profile enclosure is an ideal storage solution for systems with limited internal space, such as industrial PCs, rackmount servers, and embedded control systems.
The primary benefit of this mobile rack is its robust, all-metal design, which provides superior protection for your storage media and meets strict flammability requirements for industrial applications. The inclusion of a key lock and an eagle-hook latch system ensures that your data remains secure from unauthorized access and prevents accidental drive ejection. Furthermore, the Active Power Technology ensures energy efficiency by powering the drive only when it is fully inserted, while the integrated LED indicator provides real-time status updates for your hardware.
This device may not be suitable for systems that lack a 12.7mm slim ODD or FDD bay, as it is specifically engineered for these form factors. It is also not intended for use with 3.5-inch hard drives or drives exceeding 9.5mm in height, as the internal tray dimensions are strictly limited to standard 2.5-inch storage devices.
To install the device, first determine if you are using an ODD or FDD bay; for FDD bays, remove the pre-attached metal ODD bracket by unscrewing the three securing screws. Once the bracket is configured, slide the rack into the designated bay and secure it within your system. Insert your 2.5-inch drive into the EZ Slide Micro tray, lock the latch, and ensure the SATA cable is firmly connected to the rear port. The drive will be recognized by your system immediately upon power-up.
For optimal performance and longevity, ensure the drive is fully seated in the tray before engaging the lock, and always use the key lock feature in high-vibration environments to prevent accidental ejection.
