Icy Dock MB601VK-B 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe SSD Mobile Rack for 3.5-inch Drive Bay
The Icy Dock MB601VK-B is a high-performance mobile rack designed for 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe SSDs, fitting into a standard 3.5-inch drive bay. Constructed from durable metal, it supports data transfer rates up to 32 Gbit/s. This enclosure provides a reliable solution for hot-swapping and managing enterprise-grade NVMe storage in desktop or server systems, ensuring optimal cooling and secure drive installation.
This mobile rack features a robust, full-metal construction that ensures long-term durability and compliance with strict flammability requirements, making it suitable for industrial, military, and medical environments. The design supports the U.2 interface, providing high-speed bandwidth for data-intensive applications. Its hot-swap capability, facilitated by the EZ Slide Mini tray, allows for quick and efficient drive maintenance without system downtime. Additionally, the unit includes an integrated anti-dust flap and a dual-layer security system with an eagle-hook lock and a physical key lock to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
This device is specifically designed for 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe SSDs, SAS, or SATA drives and will not accommodate larger 3.5-inch hard drives. It requires an available 3.5-inch external floppy drive bay, so it cannot be used in systems lacking this specific physical mounting space.
To install the device, secure the mobile rack into an available 3.5-inch drive bay within your computer chassis. Mount your 2.5-inch SSD or HDD into the EZ Slide Mini tray, ensuring it is properly seated. Slide the tray into the rack until it clicks into place. Use the provided key to lock the tray if additional security is required. The status LED will illuminate when a drive is inserted and powered on, indicating active status.
For optimal performance and data integrity, always ensure the drive is fully seated and the tray is locked before initiating high-speed data transfers. Keep the key in a secure location to prevent loss of access to the drive.
