Thermal pad Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Extreme 3.38 g/cm³ 20mm x 120mm x 3mm
The Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Extreme is a high-density thermal pad designed to improve heat transfer between components in electronic assemblies. With a density of 3.38 g/cm³ and dimensions of 20 mm x 120 mm x 3 mm, this silicone-based pad offers a modelling-clay consistency that enables close conformity to uneven surfaces and maximised contact area. The material is electrically insulating and formulated for single-use applications where reliable thermal conduction is required. Available in blue and pink, the pad is intended for demanding cooling situations such as voltage regulators and memory ICs.
The Minus Pad Extreme features very high thermal conductivity and a highly flexible surface that compensates for small height differences between components, ensuring effective heat transfer. Its malleable, clay-like consistency allows precise surface shaping and maximum compression for improved contact. Compared with previous Minus Pad formulations, thermal conductivity is significantly increased, providing better cooling performance in concentrated heat locations. The product is electrically insulating, reducing the risk of short circuits when placed between components.
Remove protective liners and shape the Minus Pad Extreme to fit the required contact area, ensuring full coverage of the heat-generating surface and the mating cooling element. Press the pad gently but firmly to achieve maximum compression and intimate contact; the malleable material will conform to small surface irregularities. Because of its consistency and intended single-use nature, avoid reusing the pad after removal. Ensure mating surfaces are clean and free of dust, thermal paste residue, or loose particles before application.
Use the Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Extreme in applications where a thick, conformable, electrically insulating thermal interface is needed. Avoid repeated removal and reapplication; inspect component spacing and thickness requirements before trimming or compressing the pad. For long-term assembly, verify mechanical fixation to maintain constant compression and contact over the operating temperature range.
