Handheld bar code reader Opticon OPR2001
The Opticon OPR2001 is a handheld 1D laser barcode reader designed for efficient, everyday scanning. It combines a compact, lightweight (0.06 kg) housing and an ergonomic shape to fit comfortably in the hand. The device supports a wired connection (USB, RS232 or Keyboard Wedge) and a 1.5 m cable option for dependable data transfer. With IP42 protection and a durable construction that tolerates drops up to 1.5 m onto concrete, the OPR2001 is suitable for a variety of work environments.
The scanner offers a high read rate of up to 100 scans per second using a laser sensor, enabling fast and accurate decoding even on low-contrast 1D barcodes. Its ultra-lightweight build and small footprint save counter space and allow extended use with less fatigue. An integrated auto-trigger mode and the option of a dedicated stand provide easy hands-free scanning. Multiple connectivity options make the OPR2001 a plug-and-play device that can be integrated into most host systems without complex setup.
Connect the OPR2001 to a host using the appropriate interface (USB, RS232 or Keyboard Wedge) and allow the host to recognize the device; it functions as a plug-and-play scanner in most systems. For handheld scanning, hold the ergonomic housing comfortably and aim the laser at the barcode, then pull the trigger or rely on the auto-trigger mode. For continuous or high-volume scanning, mount the scanner in the dedicated stand to enable hands-free operation.
Use the OPR2001 in environments protected from heavy dust and direct water exposure to preserve the IP42 rating. Keep barcodes clean and well-aligned to the laser beam for optimal read rates. If frequent drops are expected, inspect the device periodically for damage despite its 1.5 m drop resistance.
