Optoma ZU500USTe Ultra short throw projector 5000 ANSI lumens DLP WUXGA
The Optoma ZU500USTe is an ultra short throw DLP projector with WUXGA resolution (1920x1200) and 5000 ANSI lumens of brightness. It uses a DuraCore laser light source with an extended lifetime (rated up to 30,000 hours) and a fixed ultra-short throw lens (throw ratio 0.253:1, focal length 3.7 mm). The compact, lamp-less and filter-free design reduces running costs and supports 24/7 operation with IP5X dust-resistant optical engine for reliable performance in continuous-use or challenging environments.
The ZU500USTe delivers high brightness and superior contrast while maintaining accurate colour performance suitable for graphics and video content. Its ultra short throw capability allows projection of very large images from a few centimetres from the surface, minimising shadows and enabling installation in tight spaces such as shop windows or retail displays. The projector includes integrated control options (RS232, AMX, Crestron RoomView, Extron IPLink), a built-in speaker, AV mute, direct power on/off and support for full 3D formats. An optional DuraCare warranty package extends serviceability up to 5 years or 24,000 hours with a 12,000-hour preventative maintenance service.
Mount the projector close to the projection surface using a suitable ultra-short-throw mount or existing EPSON® replacement adapter if replacing a compatible UST projector. Connect video and control sources via your chosen interfaces and configure projector settings using on-screen menus or remote control. For interactive use, position the unit to minimise shadows and adjust four-corner correction to square the image on uneven surfaces. Use direct power on to start the projector when mains power is applied and direct power off to switch it off immediately at the mains without waiting for cool-down.
For continuous 24/7 operation, follow Optoma’s guidelines: allow the projector to enter standby or be turned off for about 30 minutes every 24 hours to prolong component life. Consider the DuraCare warranty and 12,000-hour re-manufacture service for very high duty installations to maintain brightness and reliability over extended periods.
