ORICO AM2C3-2N is an external enclosure designed to convert an M.2 NVMe SSD into a portable high-speed USB-C drive. The enclosure supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) interface and is built to deliver fast data transfers for backups, media playback and file exchange between laptops, desktops and compatible mobile devices. Its compact form factor provides a convenient way to use existing NVMe storage outside of a computer without installing it internally.
The enclosure supports high-speed NVMe protocol over a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connection, enabling up to 10 Gb/s transfer rates when paired with a compatible host. Its external design allows easy installation and removal of M.2 NVMe drives without tools in many cases, and the aluminum or metal housing (where applicable) helps dissipate heat during sustained transfers. The enclosure is backward-compatible with host ports that support USB-C connectivity and offers plug-and-play operation on most modern operating systems.
Open the enclosure according to the included instructions, insert a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD into the M.2 socket at the correct angle and secure it with the supplied mounting hardware. Close the enclosure and connect it to a computer using the supplied USB-C cable or a compatible cable rated for USB 3.2 Gen 2. The operating system should detect the external NVMe drive automatically; initialize, partition and format the drive as required before first use. For safe removal, eject the drive from the OS before unplugging the cable.
To maintain performance and longevity, use the enclosure with a host port that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 and ensure adequate ventilation during long transfers. Monitor drive temperature under sustained load and avoid prolonged operation in high ambient temperatures. Always back up important data before moving drives between devices and follow proper ejection procedures to prevent data loss.
