The ORION metal strainer with an 8 cm diameter is a compact kitchen sieve designed for draining, sifting dry ingredients and straining liquids. Its small size makes it suitable for use with small bowls, cups and pots, and its metal construction provides durability for everyday tasks. The strainer is intended for separating solids from broths, filtering tea leaves, sifting flour and other powdered ingredients, and removing seeds or pulp from sauces and dressings. The simple shape and open weave allow quick rinsing and straightforward cleaning.
Advantages
The stainless metal mesh and rim offer mechanical strength and resistance to everyday kitchen wear, while the compact 8 cm diameter allows precise processing of small quantities. The strainer’s lightweight construction enables comfortable handling and steady drainage above small containers. Its open design supports rapid flow of liquids while retaining solids, and the smooth rim simplifies scraping and transferring sifted ingredients. The materials allow easy rinsing and short drying time.
Suitable for
- Straining broths and stocks to remove meat or vegetable solids
- Filtering loose-leaf tea or brewed infusions
- Sifting small amounts of flour, powdered sugar or cocoa
- Removing seeds or pulp from sauces, purees and dressings
- Draining canned vegetables or small portions of pasta and grains
Key specifications
- Diameter: 8 cm
- Material: metal (stainless or plated metal mesh and rim)
- Design: handheld sieve with fine mesh suitable for both liquids and dry powders
- Weight: lightweight, fits small bowls and cups
- Maintenance: rinseable and quick to dry
How to use
Place the ORION metal strainer over the target container or bowl and pour the contents through the mesh to separate solids from liquids or to catch particles. For sifting dry ingredients, pour a controlled amount of flour or powdered sugar into the sieve and gently tap or shake it above the mixing bowl. When filtering tea or small solids from sauces, hold the strainer steady and pour slowly to avoid splashing. After use, rinse under running water and, if necessary, wash with mild detergent; allow to dry completely before storage.
Usage recommendations
Use the strainer for small-quantity kitchen tasks to ensure efficient drainage and fine sifting. Avoid exposing the mesh to strong abrasive cleaners or high heat for prolonged periods. Inspect the mesh periodically for deformation or clogging and clean immediately after use to maintain flow and hygiene.
