Tunnel tent Outwell Florida 5 Air — 5-person, UPF 30+, steel poles
The Outwell Florida 5 Air is a family-oriented tunnel tent for up to five people, offering a practical layout and weather protection for summer and mild-season camping. Constructed with an Outtex 6000 RS Express flysheet and a polyester inner, the tent includes a polyethylene groundsheet and robust 1.9 cm steel poles. The Dual Front system allows conversion between a three-zone layout and an open front canopy by removing the front door. The design also integrates the patent-pending Outwell Light System to provide adjustable soft lighting for the living area.
The tent combines a durable, water-resistant flysheet with a strong steel pole structure to deliver reliable shelter and stable performance. Its Dual Front system adds layout flexibility for varying camping needs, while the integrated lighting system reduces the need for separate lamps. The polyethylene groundsheet and polyester inner fabric provide practical, easy-to-clean surfaces suitable for family use.
The tent is designed primarily for summer and mild-season conditions; it is not intended for extreme winter use or heavy alpine storms. At 32 kg, the tent is relatively heavy and may not be convenient for backpacking or situations where low weight and minimal pack size are required.
Choose a level, clear campsite and lay out the polyethylene groundsheet. Assemble the 1.9 cm steel poles according to the included instructions and attach them to the flysheet to erect the tunnel structure. Use the Dual Front system to configure the front as either a closed entrance creating three zones, or remove the front door to create an open canopy. Connect the integrated Outwell Light System to the tent’s power source or battery as specified in the manual to enable adjustable living-area lighting. Ventilate the tent as recommended to reduce condensation.
Place the tent on a level surface free of sharp objects, stake and guy the flysheet securely in windy conditions, and store the tent dry before packing to preserve the Outtex flysheet and inner fabrics. Use the Dual Front system to adapt the living area to weather and social needs, and test the integrated light settings at home before camping.
