The plug‑and‑play cable provides a hardware thermal sensor interface to the iMac System Management Controller (SMC), avoiding software hacks and maintaining compatibility with Apple’s built‑in diagnostics. The kit is intended for use with an OWC Internal HDD DIY Kit (sold separately) to replace the iMac's original hard drive with a higher‑capacity HDD (up to 8.0 TB) or a fast SSD using a NewerTech Adaptadrive.
