OWC Aura Pro 6G SSD is an internal 2.5-inch SATA drive designed as an upgrade for MacBook Air models from 2010–2011 and similar systems. The 500 GB version uses 3D NAND Flash and a modern controller to provide high sustained performance with read speeds up to 530 MB/s and write speeds up to 495 MB/s, and supports a 6 Gbit/s interface for faster data transfer compared with many original factory SSDs.

Advantages

The Aura Pro 6G delivers higher capacity and faster throughput than factory SSDs in supported MacBook Air models, offering up to 16× the storage compared with some 11-inch base models and up to 8× for some 13-inch base models.
