The Panasonic PM-K25 is a K-type photoelectric fork sensor designed for reliable non-contact detection of edges, labels and small parts in automation systems. Its fork-shaped optical path allows precise sensing of objects passing between the prongs without mechanical contact. The sensor supports both light-on and dark-on switching modes and operates from a 5–24 V DC supply, making it suitable for integration with a wide range of control equipment on conveyors and assembly lines.
The fork form factor provides consistent alignment and repeatable detection even for thin or irregular items. Install the PM-K25 so the object to be detected passes through the fork gap. Connect the sensor to the control system using the appropriate DC supply within the 5–24 V range and wire the output according to the expected light-on or dark-on behavior. Adjust mounting height and lateral position as needed to achieve reliable switching for the target material and size.
For best performance, keep the optical faces and fork gap free of dust, adhesive residue and condensation. Use secure mounting and strain relief on wiring to prevent misalignment caused by vibration. When detecting transparent or highly reflective materials, test both switching modes and, if necessary, adjust object position or add background contrast to improve detection stability.
