The Panasonic PM-L25-R is an L-type optical fork sensor designed for reliable through-beam detection of small parts, labels and edges in automation and packaging applications. Compatible with 5–24 V DC supplies and offering both light-on and dark-on switching modes, this compact fork sensor provides non-contact sensing in confined spaces and is engineered for straightforward integration into production equipment.
The L-shaped compact housing enables installation in tight locations where space is limited. Wide supply voltage range (5–24 V DC) ensures compatibility with common control systems. The sensor supports selectable light-on and dark-on switching, allowing flexible signal logic to match machine requirements. Optical through-beam detection provides reliable sensing of small, flat or thin objects, labels and edges without mechanical contact.
Mount the sensor so that the object to be detected passes through the fork gap and aligns with the emitter and receiver. Connect the sensor to a suitable 5–24 V DC power source and wire the output to the control input according to the required switching logic. Select light-on or dark-on mode to match the machine’s control scheme. Adjust mechanical alignment and, if available, sensitivity settings to obtain stable detection of the target items.
Install the sensor on a rigid bracket to prevent misalignment from vibration. Keep the emitter and receiver faces clean and free of dust, adhesive residue or condensation to maintain consistent detection. For highly reflective or transparent targets, verify detection performance during commissioning and use mechanical guides or contrast backgrounds as needed.
