Fineliner pen PENTEL PointLiner Colour S40 0.4mm — pink ink

PENTEL PointLiner Colour S40 0.4mm — pink ink is a fineliner designed for precise drawing, sketching and detailed note-taking. The 0.4 mm metal-clad tip produces consistent, sharp lines while the pigment-based pink ink is formulated to dry quickly and resist water, making it suitable for illustrations, diagrams, journals and everyday office use. The pen offers a slim body for controlled handling and predictable ink flow for repeatable results in technical and creative work.

Advantages

The PointLiner Colour S40 provides a fine 0.4 mm line width for accurate detail work and controlled handwriting. Pigment ink ensures water resistance and fast drying to reduce smudging. The pen’s tip and ink combination deliver uniform line density and reliable start-up without excessive blotting. Its compact, lightweight design supports extended use and portability.

Suitable for

• Technical drawing and drafting
• Sketching and illustration accents
• Journaling, planners and bullet journals
• Annotating documents and color-coding notes
• Office tasks requiring precise, colored lines

When it may not be suitable

This fineliner is intended for paper-based applications and may not perform well on very glossy, non-absorbent surfaces where pigment ink can take longer to adhere. It is not designed for heavy filling or coloring large areas; broad marker strokes or brush pens are better suited for those tasks. Users who need archival-rated, lightfast pigments for long-term outdoor exposure should verify suitability for their specific requirements.

Key specifications

• Tip size: 0.4 mm fine point
• Ink type: pigment-based, water-resistant, fast-drying
• Color: pink
• Tip construction: metal-clad for durability and precision
• Body: slim, lightweight design for controlled handling

How to use

Uncap the fineliner and allow the tip to make initial contact with paper to ensure smooth ink flow. Use light consistent pressure for fine lines; increased pressure will not significantly widen the line but may shorten tip life. Store horizontally or with the cap on to prevent the tip from drying out. For best results, test the ink on a scrap of the intended paper to confirm drying time and bleed-through before starting detailed work.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended surface: best on standard and slightly textured papers, not highly glossy substrates
• Line width: 0.4 mm is optimized for detail, not broad coverage
• Color needs: pink ink is suitable for accents and color-coding but not for neutral black/blue text
• Archival needs: verify long-term lightfastness if required for conservation

Usage recommendations

For consistent results, use the PENTEL PointLiner Colour S40 on quality paper with moderate absorbency, cap the pen after use, and keep light pressure during drawing to preserve the tip. Combine with black fineliners for outlines and pink accents to enhance diagrams, journals and illustrations.
