The Petromax Cotton Wick Natural 100 cm is a dependable and high-quality replacement wick specifically designed for oil and paraffin lamps. Crafted from durable and highly absorbent cotton, this wick ensures a steady flame and reliable illumination during camping trips, outdoor adventures, and emergency situations. With a generous length of 100 cm, it provides flexibility and can be easily trimmed to fit a wide variety of burner sizes and lamp types.

Advantages

This natural cotton wick offers excellent absorption capabilities, which allows fuel to travel smoothly and consistently to the flame. The durable material ensures a long lifespan and reduces the frequency of replacements during extended use. Because it can be cut to the exact required length, it is exceptionally versatile and compatible with multiple lamp models. It delivers a clean, steady flame that provides reliable lighting in outdoor environments or during power outages.

Suitable for

• Replacing worn wicks in traditional oil and paraffin lamps
• Outdoor camping, hiking, and bushcraft lighting needs
• Emergency preparedness kits and household backup lighting
• Various burner sizes requiring custom-cut wick lengths

When it may not be suitable

This wick is not designed for use with pressurized lanterns that require specific mantle types rather than flat wicks. It is also unsuitable for burners that are incompatible with standard cotton wick thicknesses.

Key specifications

• Made from 100% natural, absorbent cotton
• Total length of 100 cm
• Designed for oil and paraffin lamps
• Customizable length for various burner sizes

How to use

Unroll the cotton wick to the desired length required for your specific lamp burner. Use sharp scissors to cut the wick cleanly to prevent fraying. Insert the cut wick into the burner mechanism, ensuring that an appropriate amount extends above the burner head for ignition. Allow the wick to absorb fuel for several minutes before lighting to ensure an even burn and prevent premature damage to the cotton fibers.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your lamp requires a flat cotton wick rather than a mantle or circular wick
• Check the inner width of your lamp's burner to ensure compatibility with the wick dimensions
• Determine the required length for your specific lighting device

Store the remaining wick in a dry, clean place to maintain cotton absorption quality. Always trim the charred edge slightly before each new lighting to maintain a steady and clean flame.
