Cast-iron stack grate grill pad Petromax GR-S, black, cast iron, 1 pc
The Petromax Cast-iron Stack Grate GR-S is a single-piece black cast-iron grill pad engineered for consistent heat distribution and stable support during open-fire cooking. Made from solid cast iron with a pre-seasoned finish, the GR-S provides an even cooking surface that retains heat for searing, roasting and gentle braising. Its three 4.8 cm (1.89 in) feet create an optimal distance from the bottom of a pot, making it suitable for use inside Dutch ovens, on planchas, camp stoves and directly in embers.
The GR-S offers durable cast-iron construction that ensures long service life and reliable heat retention. Its pre-seasoned surface allows immediate use without additional initial seasoning. The three raised feet promote consistent air and heat circulation underneath food, reducing the risk of burning while enabling multiple-level cooking by stacking grates. Versatile in application, the grate functions as a grill surface, a support for kettles and percolators, and as a stable trivet for hot cookware.
Place the grill pad directly into embers for searing and to achieve grill marks, set it inside a Dutch oven to raise food above the pot bottom for steaming or braising, or stack multiple grates to create several cooking levels. The pre-seasoned surface permits immediate use. When used outdoors, position the grate on a stable bed of coals or on a compatible stove or plancha surface. Use as a trivet by placing hot cookware on the grate to protect tables or work surfaces.
Before first extended use, inspect the seasoned surface and heat gradually to maintain seasoning. After use, clean with hot water and a brush while avoiding harsh detergents; dry thoroughly and apply a thin layer of oil to prevent rust during storage.
