Cast Iron Stackable Grill Grate Petromax gr-s30 for Campfire and Dutch Oven

Petromax gr-s30 is a cast iron stackable grill grate created for use with campfires, Dutch ovens and outdoor cooking setups. Made from heavy-duty cast iron, the grate provides a stable support platform for pots, pans and grills, while its mass ensures consistent heat distribution and high resistance to open-fire temperatures. The stackable design allows multiple grates to be combined to form adjustable cooking heights above coals or flames, enabling versatile use in camp kitchens and backyard fire pits.

Advantages

The cast iron construction offers durability and excellent heat retention, producing even cooking and reliable searing. The stackable format adds flexibility: you can arrange a single grate for direct grilling or stack several to raise cookware incrementally. Its robust build handles heavy cookware and repeated use over open flame without warping. The simple geometry and solid material make cleaning straightforward after cooling and brushing.

Suitable for

• Grilling meat, fish and vegetables over open fire
• Supporting Dutch ovens, skillets and pots on a campfire
• Creating adjustable cooking heights by stacking grates
• Outdoor kitchens, fire pits and primitive camp setups

Key specifications

• Material: heavy-duty cast iron for heat retention and durability
• Design: stackable grates for adjustable cooking height
• Heat resistance: suitable for direct contact with coals and flames
• Support capacity: designed to carry typical camp cookware including Dutch ovens and skillets
• Cleaning: solid surface for brushing and seasoning after use

How to use

Place the cast iron grate directly over a stable bed of coals or on supports above a campfire. Use a single grate for low grilling or stack additional grates to raise the cooking surface for simmering or to accommodate larger pots. Preheat the grate gradually to reduce thermal shock and, when grilling, pre-season the cooking surface or apply a thin layer of cooking oil to reduce sticking. After use, allow the grate to cool, remove ash and food debris with a brush, and reapply a light coat of oil if necessary to maintain the seasoned surface.

Usage recommendations

For best results, preheat the grate and season it before first use; avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent cracking. Handle with heat-resistant tools and gloves when adjusting stacked grates. Store in a dry place and maintain the seasoned surface by occasional oiling to prevent rust.
