Climbing sling Petzl C40A 80 — 80 g, blue
Petzl C40A 80 is a lightweight climbing sling designed for mountaineering, sport climbing and rope access work. The blue sling weighs approximately 80 g and provides a compact, durable connection point for anchors, quickdraws or personal tethers. Constructed to meet the needs of climbers and rope technicians, this sling is suitable as an anchor extension, runner or short tether when rigging protection or organizing a belay.
The sling combines low weight with reliable handling and resistance to abrasion, making it convenient to carry and easy to manipulate while clipping or building anchors. Its compact length minimizes bulk on a harness or gear loop and supports quick rigging for temporary anchors or extending protection. The color improves visibility on a rack and helps differentiate lengths or functions during multi-pitch climbs or rope-access operations.
Inspect the sling for signs of wear, cuts or abrasion before each use. Use it as an anchor extension by clipping one end to a protection point and the other to a carabiner or quickdraw; when used as a runner, place it around natural features or gear and clip a carabiner through the sling. For personal tethering, attach one end to the harness tie-in or dedicated attachment point and the other to a secure anchor or work position. Follow standard ropework practices and verify all connections and carabiner gates are properly closed and oriented.
Do not use the sling for load-bearing applications beyond standard climbing and rope-access techniques, and replace it if it shows any damage, heavy abrasion, chemical contamination or softening. Store the sling away from direct sunlight and chemicals, and follow the manufacturer's guidelines for inspection and retirement to maintain safety during mountaineering and rope work.
