The Ricoh fi-800R is an ADF and manual feed workgroup scanner designed for front-desk environments. It combines passport, ID and A4 document scanning with duplex ADF and a return-scan (single-feed) function, supporting fast capture of documents up to 216 x 5588 mm with an optical resolution of 600 x 600 DPI. The compact U-turn design saves counter space while allowing staff to scan passports, ID cards and A4 paperwork without removing documents from customers' sight.

How to use

Place the fi-800R on a stable front-desk surface with access to a USB 3.2 port. For batch scanning of multiple pages, load up to 20 sheets into the automatic document feeder. For passports and thick ID cards, use the manual single-feed (return scan) path so documents are inserted and ejected at the front. Start scanning using the supplied PaperStream Capture software or compatible TWAIN/ISIS drivers; PaperStream Capture can automatically select profiles, name files and extract MRZ and barcode data.

Usage recommendations

Use PaperStream IP to optimise image quality for OCR and enable PaperStream Capture’s automatic profile selection and barcode/patch recognition to streamline front-desk workflows.
