Water block with backplate PHANTEKS Glacier G40 for GPU — Acrylic & Copper, Transparent/White, 353.2×190×70 mm
PHANTEKS Glacier G40 for GPU is a full-coverage water block with matching backplate designed for custom liquid-cooling loops. Constructed from acrylic and copper and finished in transparent and white tones, this block measures 353.2 × 190 × 70 mm and provides direct liquid contact to the GPU core and voltage regulation modules (VRMs). The Glacier G40 is supplied in a box and is intended for use in high-performance gaming rigs and workstation builds that require improved thermal performance and reduced fan noise compared to air cooling.
The combination of a copper coldplate and a transparent acrylic top ensures efficient heat transfer from GPU and VRM components while allowing visual monitoring of coolant flow. Full-coverage design cools multiple key components on the graphics card in a single assembly, reducing thermal hotspots. The included backplate stabilizes the card mechanically and contributes to heat dissipation. The overall dimensions accommodate larger GPU PCBs and create a compact hydraulic route inside custom loops.
Install the Glacier G40 into a custom liquid-cooling loop following the graphics card and chassis manufacturer guidelines. Prepare the graphics card by removing the factory cooler and cleaning contact surfaces. Mount the block onto the GPU and VRM areas using the supplied mounting hardware, ensuring even pressure and correct thermal interface material application. Connect inlet and outlet fittings to the block, integrate it into the loop with appropriate tubing, radiator(s), pump and reservoir, then perform a leak test and flush the system before regular operation.
Use compatible fittings and tubing rated for your coolant type, maintain proper flow rate and radiator capacity for effective heat dissipation, and periodically inspect seals and coolant condition. Follow anti-corrosion and compatibility guidelines when selecting coolant to protect the copper coldplate and other loop components.
