Philips AVENT ultra air day and night pacifier SCF087/27 orthodontic silicone 6-18 months

The Philips AVENT ultra air day and night pacifier SCF087/27 is designed to provide soothing comfort for babies aged 6 to 18 months while supporting natural oral development. Featuring an orthodontic and collapsible silicone teat, this classic pacifier adapts to the shape of your baby's palate, teeth, and gums. The lightweight shield is engineered with extra-large airholes to maximize airflow, ensuring that sensitive skin remains dry and free from irritation throughout the day and night. Additionally, the convenient glow-in-the-dark button allows parents and infants to locate the pacifier easily in a dark room without disturbing sleep.

Advantages

This pacifier is designed with skin health and ease of use in mind. The extra-large airholes continuously ventilate the skin around the mouth, significantly reducing moisture buildup and the risk of chafing. High teat acceptance makes the transition and ongoing use smooth for infants, as supported by parental feedback. The orthodontic, BPA-free silicone nipple is taste-free, odor-resistant, and maintains its structural integrity over time. Furthermore, the inclusion of a sterilising carrying case allows for hygienic storage and quick microwave sterilisation on the go.

Suitable for

• Soothing babies aged 6 to 18 months
• Supporting natural oral development during infancy
• Nighttime use thanks to the glow-in-the-dark feature
• Maintaining dry and comfortable skin for sensitive babies

When it may not be suitable

This pacifier may not be suitable for newborns or infants under 6 months of age, as the size and teat dimensions are specifically calibrated for older babies. Additionally, infants who require a symmetrical or cherry-shaped nipple rather than an orthodontic shape may not readily accept this model.

Key specifications

• Classic baby pacifier design
• Orthodontic silicone teat
• Age suitability: 6 to 18 months
• Extra-large airholes for breathability
• Glow-in-the-dark button for nighttime visibility
• Includes sterilising and carrying case

How to use

Before first use, place the pacifier in boiling water for 5 minutes or use the provided sterilising case with water in the microwave according to instructions, then allow it to cool and squeeze out any trapped water for hygiene. Inspect the pacifier carefully before each use, pulling the nipple in all directions, and discard it at the first signs of damage or weakness. Clean the pacifier regularly using mild soap and warm water or a sterilisation method suitable for baby products.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your baby falls within the 6 to 18 months age range
• Check whether your child prefers an orthodontic nipple shape
• Ensure the glow-in-the-dark feature is exposed to light during the day to function properly at night

Always inspect the pacifier before every use, replace it after 4 weeks of use for safety and hygiene reasons, and never tie ribbons or cords around the pacifier as they pose a strangulation hazard.
