Board Game Plan — Piotruś wrocławski (card game) by Plan
Piotruś wrocławski (card game) by Plan is a compact set of playing cards based on the traditional Old Maid mechanic. The game consists of paired cards and a single unmatched card; players draw and discard to form pairs while avoiding being left with the unmatched card. Designed for casual, family and children’s play, it offers short rounds, simple rules and portable packaging that makes it easy to take on trips or use at home.
The card game requires minimal setup and teaches pattern recognition and turn-taking. Its small size and light weight make it convenient for travel and quick play sessions. Rules are straightforward, so children and adults can start playing within minutes. The design and illustrations reflect local theme elements, providing cultural appeal while retaining familiar gameplay.
Shuffle the deck and deal the cards evenly to all players. Each player discards any initial pairs from their hand. On their turn, a player draws one card from the next player’s hand without looking, attempting to complete pairs. When a player forms a pair, the pair is placed face down and removed from further play. Play continues until only the unmatched card remains; the player left holding that card is the loser for that round. Multiple rounds can be played and scores tallied if desired.
Use on a flat surface with good lighting and at a comfortable table height for children. Store the cards in their original box or a small resealable bag to prevent loss and bending. For younger children, reduce the number of cards to shorten rounds and simplify matching; for larger groups, combine two decks or increase the number of players per round to keep gameplay engaging.
