How to use

Install the SilverFast Ai Studio 8 software supplied with the scanner and connect the OpticFilm 120 to a computer using the USB 2.0 cable. Load film or slides into the appropriate holders—adjustable 120mm carriers keep medium-format film flat without cutting. Use SilverFast tools such as Multi-Exposure® to increase dynamic range and iSRD® to detect and reduce dust and scratches. Perform an Auto IT8 Calibration® for accurate color profiling before scanning batches to ensure consistent color reproduction.

Usage recommendations

For best results, perform an IT8 calibration after significant changes in lighting or scanning environment, use Multi-Exposure® for high-contrast originals to improve shadow and highlight detail, and clean film holders regularly to minimize dust artifacts during scanning.
