Flatbed & ADF scanner Plustek SmartOffice PN2040
The Plustek SmartOffice PN2040 is a network-capable flatbed and ADF scanner designed for small and medium offices or home offices. It supports duplex scanning, an automatic document feeder (50-sheet capacity), and a flatbed for fragile items. With an optical resolution of 600 x 600 DPI, 48-bit color depth and a daily duty cycle of up to 1000 pages, the PN2040 scans to common formats including Searchable PDF, PDF, TIF, JPEG, BMP and can produce editable MS Office documents. The scanner connects via RJ-45 to a network for shared use or via USB 2.0 for direct connection to a PC.
The PN2040 combines a compact footprint with both ADF and flatbed functionality, enabling efficient batch scanning and careful handling of single or delicate originals. Network connectivity allows multiple users to scan to any PC on the same network while a USB 2.0 interface supports direct connection. Supported output formats and OCR-capable searchable PDFs facilitate document management and conversion to editable Office files.
Connect the PN2040 to your local network via the RJ-45 port to enable scanning to any PC on the same network, or connect directly to a PC using the USB 2.0 port. To batch-scan, load up to 50 sheets into the automatic document feeder and start the scan from the scanner controls or supplied software. For single, fragile or small items, place the item on the flatbed glass and initiate scanning. Choose the desired file format and, if needed, use the OCR option to create searchable or editable documents.
For reliable daily operation, avoid exceeding the specified 1000-page daily duty cycle and keep the ADF and flatbed glass clean to maintain scan quality. Use network connection for shared environments and USB when a single PC requires direct access.
