Polymaker ASA 3D Printing Filament, 1.75 mm, Black, 1 kg
Polymaker ASA 3D printing filament is a high-performance material engineered for durability and superior weather resistance. With a standard diameter of 1.75 mm and a 1 kg spool, this black filament provides exceptional UV stability and mechanical strength, ensuring that your prints maintain their integrity even when exposed to harsh environmental conditions. It serves as an advanced alternative to traditional ABS, offering a refined matte finish that effectively minimizes the visibility of layer lines.
The primary benefit of using this ASA filament is its outstanding resistance to ultraviolet light and environmental stress cracking, which makes it significantly more reliable for long-term outdoor use than standard materials. Beyond its weatherability, the filament exhibits excellent mechanical properties, providing the structural robustness required for functional prototypes and end-use components. The material is designed to produce a professional-grade matte surface, which enhances the aesthetic quality of printed parts without requiring extensive post-processing.
This filament may not be suitable for users who do not have access to a 3D printer capable of reaching high nozzle and bed temperatures. Additionally, it is not recommended for small, simple desktop printers that lack an enclosure, as larger prints may suffer from warping or dimensional instability without a controlled thermal environment.
To achieve optimal results, ensure your 3D printer is properly calibrated for high-temperature materials. For direct drive extruders, use a retraction distance of 1 mm at 20 mm/s, while indirect drive systems require a retraction distance of 3 mm at 40 mm/s. Maintain a printing speed between 30 mm/s and 50 mm/s with the cooling fan turned off. If the material has been exposed to humidity, dry the filament at 70˚C for 6 hours before use.
For the best dimensional stability, especially when printing objects larger than the size of a fist, it is highly recommended to use an enclosed 3D printer to maintain a consistent ambient temperature.
