Polymaker PolyMax™ PLA is an easy-to-print polylactic acid filament in pink, offering improved mechanical properties and increased ductility compared with standard PLA. Supplied as a 750 g spool of 1.75 mm filament, it provides reliable extrusion for a wide range of desktop FDM 3D printers and acts as an alternative to ABS where higher toughness is required.

Advantages

PolyMax™ PLA uses nano-reinforcement technology to increase ductility so printed parts are more likely to bend rather than fracture. It retains the typical ease of printing and biodegradability of PLA while offering improved impact resistance and toughness compared with standard PLA formulations.

How to use

Load the 1.75 mm PolyMax™ PLA filament into your printer and set the nozzle temperature between 190 °C and 230 °C. Recommended bed temperature is 25 °C to 60 °C. Print speeds of 40–60 mm/s with the cooling fan on are suitable for most prints. Configure retraction for your extruder type: direct drive ~1 mm at 20 mm/s, Bowden/indirect drive ~3 mm at 40 mm/s. These settings are a starting point and should be fine-tuned for your specific printer and model geometry.

Usage recommendations

If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 55 °C for about 6 hours before printing. Expect a glass transition temperature around 60 °C; for higher heat resistance consider PolyMax™ PETG (≈80 °C).
