3D printing material Polylactic acid PLA Black 5 kg Polymaker PM70896
Polymaker PM70896 is a 1.75 mm Polylactic acid (PLA) filament in black, supplied as a 5 kg spool for 3D printing. Marketed under the PolyLite™ PLA family, this filament is formulated for reliable feeding and consistent extrusion, suitable for prototyping and production where dimensional stability and surface detail are required. The material incorporates Polymaker Jam-Free™ Technology to increase the filament's heat resistance in the feed path, reducing the risk of hot-end jams caused by heat creep while maintaining the typical printed-part thermal behaviour of PLA.
PolyLite™ PLA offers higher filament heat resistance in the extruder, helping to prevent heat-creep related blockages during long or demanding prints. The grade is produced from a high molecular weight PLA base, yielding increased stiffness and good bending strength compared with many standard PLA formulations. It prints across a broad temperature window and is compatible with common desktop FDM printers using 1.75 mm filament diameter.
Load the 1.75 mm Polymaker PLA filament into a compatible FDM/FFF printer and set the nozzle temperature between 190 °C and 230 °C depending on your printer and part requirements. Use a heated bed set between 25 °C and 60 °C if adhesion or warping is a concern. Enable part cooling fan for most geometries and follow the retraction guidelines suitable for your extruder type: shorter retraction distances for direct-drive extruders and longer distances for Bowden-style setups. If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 55 °C for approximately 6 hours before printing.
To minimise feeding issues and get consistent results, store the filament in a dry environment or sealed packaging with desiccant. Adjust print temperature and speed to suit your specific printer and model geometry, and consult material technical data for mechanical property comparisons when stiffness is a primary requirement.
