Microphone PreSonus M7
The PreSonus M7 is a studio condenser microphone designed for accurate vocal and instrument capture. It uses a cardioid pickup pattern to reduce room and background noise while providing a broad frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Built with a durable housing, the microphone is supplied with a shock mount and pop filter to improve recording clarity and reduce handling and plosive artifacts.
The PreSonus M7 offers consistent cardioid directionality that helps isolate the source and minimize unwanted ambient sound. Its wide 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency range allows faithful reproduction of low-end detail and high-frequency presence. The included shock mount reduces mechanical vibration transfer, and the pop filter limits plosive bursts for cleaner vocal takes. Robust construction supports frequent studio use and reliable positioning.
Place the PreSonus M7 in the supplied shock mount and attach it to a stable microphone stand. Position the microphone so the grille faces the sound source and maintain a suitable distance to balance proximity effect and room sound (commonly 10–30 cm for vocals). Connect the microphone to a compatible preamplifier or audio interface that provides the required phantom power for condenser operation. Use the pop filter between the vocalist and the microphone to reduce plosives, and adjust gain on your preamp or interface to achieve optimal input levels without clipping.
For best results, record in a treated or acoustically controlled space and use the cardioid pattern to aim the null toward reflective surfaces or noise sources. Monitor levels while setting gain to prevent distortion. Regularly check mounts and cabling for secure connections to maintain consistent recording quality.
