PROLIMATECH PK-2 is a low-viscosity thermal paste formulated to improve heat transfer between processors, graphics chips and heatsinks. With a thermal conductivity of 10.2 W/m·K and a net weight of 1.5 g in a precision tube, this compound is intended for repairs, upgrades and compact system builds where a thin, even thermal interface is required. Its smooth, easy-to-spread texture enables rapid application and consistent contact between component surfaces and cooling hardware.
PK-2 combines relatively high thermal conductivity with low viscosity to provide efficient heat conduction while allowing precise, thin application. The fine texture reduces air gaps and enhances contact for improved thermal transfer. Supplied in a small tube, the paste supports controlled dispensing for small-area applications and compact systems.
Clean both mating surfaces (CPU/GPU heat spreader and heatsink base) with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth, ensuring all old thermal compound residues are removed. Apply a small amount of PK-2 to the center of the heat spreader; because of its low viscosity, a pea-sized or rice-grain amount is typically sufficient. Mount the heatsink and secure it following the manufacturer's mounting sequence to allow the paste to spread into a thin, uniform layer. If reapplying, remove the old compound completely and repeat the cleaning and application steps.
For optimal results, use PK-2 on room-temperature components and avoid overapplication — a thin, uniform layer provides better thermal transfer than excessive paste. Store the tube in a cool, dry place and reseal after use to maintain consistency.
