Mechanics tool set Proline 588150 — 150-piece automotive and workshop hand tool kit

Proline 588150 is a 150-piece mechanics tool set intended for automotive repair and general workshop tasks. The kit groups sockets, bits, ratchets and adapters in three square drive sizes plus a selection of screwdriving and hex tools, presented in a plastic trunk with metal clamps for organised storage and transport.

Advantages

The set provides a broad range of socket sizes, TORX, Phillips and Pozidriv bits, hex keys and extensions, all made from chromium-vanadium steel with a satin finish. Knurled sockets and multiple drive adapters increase handling precision and flexibility while the included 72-tooth ratchets enable fine-angle operation in confined spaces.

Suitable for

• Automotive maintenance and light repairs
• Workshop assembly and disassembly tasks
• General mechanical, assembly and DIY work

When it may not be suitable

This kit covers a wide range of common sizes and types but does not replace specialised or very large industrial tools. Extremely high-torque industrial applications or tasks requiring specialized diagnostic equipment may require additional or heavier-duty tools.

Key specifications

• Total pieces: 150
• Drive sizes included: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"
• Sockets: metric sizes from 4 mm up to 32 mm across different drives
• Hex keys and sockets: metric hex sizes 1.27–14 mm and 3–14 mm depending on type
• TORX and TORX E sockets: T8–T70 and E4–E18 across drives
• Phillips and Pozidriv bits: PH 0–4, PZ 0–4
• Ratchets: 72-tooth ratchets in included drives
• Extensions and adapters: various lengths including 50, 100, 125 and 250 mm extensions and common drive adapters
• Material and finish: chrome-vanadium steel with satin coating
• Storage: supplied in a plastic trunk with metal clamps

How to use

Select the correct drive and socket or bit for the fastener, attach it to the corresponding ratchet or driver, and use extensions or adapters when access is limited. Use the appropriate torque and avoid applying excessive force beyond the tool's capacity. After use, clean and return items to the plastic trunk to keep the set organised and prolong component life.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm the included socket and bit size range matches the intended vehicles or equipment
• Check that the 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive coverage fits your common tasks
• Consider whether you need additional specialised tools for high-torque or diagnostic work

Usage recommendations

For routine automotive and workshop tasks use the appropriate drive size for the fastener, employ extensions and universal joints for hard-to-reach bolts, and periodically inspect sockets and ratchets for wear. Store the set in its trunk to protect the tools and maintain organisation.
