Drill bit Proline 77190 — metal drill bit Ø19 mm, length 198 mm, 1 pc
Proline 77190 is a single HSS metal drill bit with a 19 mm diameter and an overall length of 198 mm, designed for drilling steel and other ferrous materials. Manufactured by precision grinding, this solid drill bit delivers straight, accurate holes and is compatible with standard drill chucks used in workshops and on construction sites. The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment reduces the need for extensive centre punching and enables fast penetration into metal surfaces.
The drill bit is made from high-quality refined high-speed steel (HSS) for increased abrasion resistance and enhanced torsional strength. Fully ground construction ensures better concentricity and hole straightness compared with cylindrical or precision-ground alternatives. The 135° split point geometry improves cutting efficiency and reduces walking at the drill start, saving time during setup and drilling. Supplied as a single piece in protective packaging, the bit is suitable for heavy-duty metalworking and repair tasks.
Secure the drill bit firmly in a compatible drill chuck and set the drill to an appropriate speed for HSS bits and the thickness of the metal being drilled. Mark the drilling position; the 135° split point reduces walking, but a centre punch can still be used for best accuracy on thin or hardened surfaces. Use cutting lubricant for improved tool life and lower cutting forces when drilling steel. Apply steady, even pressure and withdraw occasionally to clear chips on deep holes.
For optimal performance and longer service life, use appropriate cutting fluid, avoid excessive feed pressure, and select drill speeds suited to the workpiece material and diameter. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before use and replace when the cutting edges become rounded or chipping occurs.
