Proline 77915K is a single high-speed steel drill bit designed for metalworking. It has a cutting diameter of 11.5 mm and an overall length of 142 mm, supplied as one piece for use in workshops and on construction sites. The bit is suitable for general metal drilling tasks such as creating through-holes and pilot holes in steel and other metals and fits standard drill chucks.
The drill features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment that enables fast, accurate starts and reduces walking during marking. It is manufactured entirely by precision grinding for consistent geometry and straightness. A titanium nitride coating increases tool life and improves hole finish by reducing friction and wear.
Secure the drill bit in the chuck and tighten according to the drill manufacturer’s instructions. Select an appropriate rotational speed and feed rate for the metal being drilled—lower speeds for harder metals and higher speeds for softer metals. Use cutting fluid or lubricant for steel and other ferrous alloys to reduce heat and improve tool life. Start drilling with steady pressure, allowing the bit to cut without excessive force, and withdraw periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes.
For best results, use the Proline drill bit at speeds and feeds matched to material hardness, apply appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous metals, and clamp the workpiece securely. Inspect the bit for wear before use and replace when the cutting edge is dull to maintain hole quality.
