Interface Card QNAP QM2-4P-384A PCIe 3.0 Active Cooling 1 Fan
The QNAP QM2-4P-384A is an internal PCIe 3.0 interface card that adds support for M.2 SSDs in compatible systems. Designed for installation inside network-attached storage (NAS) devices or PCs with available PCIe slots, the card provides an M.2 SSD expansion option with active cooling (one fan) and a compact form factor to preserve drive bay space while improving storage performance and flexibility.
The QM2-4P-384A enables installation of M.2 SSDs for caching pools, SSD caching, or auto-tiering volumes to address storage performance bottlenecks without occupying 3.5-inch drive bays. It supports real-time temperature monitoring via M.2 thermal sensors and includes a heatsink with a smart fan to reduce overheating and maintain stable performance. LED indicators provide at-a-glance status of installed M.2 SSDs.
Install the QM2-4P-384A into an available PCIe slot on a compatible NAS or PC following the host device’s installation instructions. Mount compatible M.2 SSDs into the card’s M.2 slots, secure them, and connect any required internal power or system cables if specified by the host. After powering on the system, configure SSD caching, caching pools, or auto-tiering in the host device’s storage management interface to enable the desired acceleration or tiering features.
Use enterprise-grade or NAS-compatible M.2 SSDs for sustained workloads and enable thermal monitoring to avoid overheating. Ensure the host system firmware and storage management software (for example, QNAP firmware) are up to date before configuring caching or tiering features.
