The QNAP TVS-h1288X is a tower NAS powered by an Intel® Xeon® W-1250 6-core/12-thread processor (3.3 GHz, Turbo up to 4.7 GHz) and 16 GB DDR4 ECC memory. Designed for demanding storage and virtualization tasks, it runs QuTS hero (ZFS-based) to provide strong data integrity, inline data reduction, multi-level caching and flexible RAID options. The unit includes dual 10GbE ports, 2.5GbE connectivity, HDMI 4K output with Intel® UHD Graphics P630, dedicated SSD bays and M.2 NVMe slots, and supports Thunderbolt™ 3 expansion cards for high-speed media collaboration.

How to use

Install storage drives according to your capacity and performance needs, using 3.5" HDDs for bulk storage and SSDs or M.2 NVMe for caching or high-I/O volumes. Configure RAID (including RAID Z or triple parity/mirror) and enable QuTS hero features such as inline deduplication and compression to optimize storage utilization. For collaborative media work, install QXP-T32P Thunderbolt™ 3 cards into the PCIe slots to provide up to four Thunderbolt™ 3 ports and connect Thunderbolt-equipped workstations. Use the Network & Virtual Switch app to allocate network resources for VMs and containers, and manage backups with HBS, SnapSync and snapshot replica for versioned protection.

Usage recommendations

For best performance in 4K editing and virtualization, combine SLC/MLC SSD RAID 5 or dedicated NVMe caching with the dual 10GbE network and, if required, Thunderbolt™ 3 expansion.
