The Quantum Cleaning cartridge MR-LUCQN-01 is an LTO Universal cleaning tape compatible with LTO-1, LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape drives. It is designed to remove dust and debris from tape drive heads and transport paths to help maintain read/write performance and prolong drive life. The cartridge includes a memory chip that stores usage data and an embedded code recognized by compatible LTO Ultrium drive firmware.

Advantages

The cleaning cartridge is compatible with LTO Ultrium drives and can be used up to the drive-determined limit (typically between 15 and 50 cleanings per cartridge). Its built-in memory chip allows the drive to track cleaning cycles and will cause the drive to eject the cartridge when the maximum number of uses is reached, preventing further use. The universal design supports most LTO Ultrium 1 drives as well as all LTO Ultrium 2 drives and LTO-3 drives.

How to use

Insert the cleaning cartridge into the compatible LTO Ultrium drive following the drive manufacturer’s insertion procedure. Allow the drive to run its automatic cleaning cycle; do not interrupt the process. After the drive completes the cleaning cycle it will report status and either retain or eject the cartridge based on the drive’s firmware rules. When the drive ejects the cartridge due to reaching the maximum allowed uses, replace it with a new cleaning cartridge.
