The Quantum DLTtape IV Media Cartridge is a blank half‑inch data tape cartridge engineered for use with Quantum DLTtape drives. Designed for reliable long‑term storage, the cartridge provides 40 GB native capacity, a sustained transfer rate of 3 MB/s, and a tape life rated up to 30 years. Manufactured to strict quality controls, the DLTtape IV media uses a specially formulated metal particle binder and a smooth coating to improve read/write reliability and maintain compatibility with current and future DLTtape drive generations.

Advantages

The cartridge’s high‑grade metal particle (MP) formulation and a binder system that combines solid and liquid lubricants reduce tape and head wear while repelling airborne particles that could affect head performance. Uniform particle shape, a dense binding system and a specially selected base film enable shorter wavelength recording schemes for improved read compatibility.
