Heat-shrink joint Radpol MP-DM3R (ZRM-3) for 4×70–4×120 mm² cables, 1 kV
Radpol MP-DM3R (ZRM-3) heat-shrink joint is designed for four-core low-voltage power cables with conductor cross-sections from 4×70 up to 4×120 mm², rated to 1 kV. The joint combines a heat-shrink outer sleeve with internal insulation components to restore electrical insulation and provide mechanical protection after cable splicing. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use where a compact, sealed connection is required and helps protect the joint from moisture and contaminants.
The MP-DM3R joint ensures a consistent heat-shrink seal that provides environmental protection and reliable dielectric insulation for low-voltage connections. Its construction offers mechanical stability for the spliced conductors and reduces the need for bulky closures. The product is compatible with common installation tools for heat-shrink assemblies and enables a compact finished joint with reduced profile compared to some mechanical alternatives.
Prepare cable ends by cutting to length, stripping insulation to expose conductors and cleaning the conductor surfaces. Make the electrical splices using suitable connectors or mechanical crimps rated for the conductor size. Position the internal insulating components over each conductor splice as required, slide the heat-shrink sleeve into place covering the splices and adjacent insulation, then apply heat evenly with an appropriate heat source until the sleeve fully shrinks and conforms to the cable profile. Allow the assembly to cool and verify sealing and insulation integrity before energizing.
Use proper personal protective equipment and follow local electrical safety standards. Select compatible connector types and installation tools rated for the conductor cross-sections. Apply heat uniformly to avoid hotspots; ensure complete shrinkage and a continuous seal. For outdoor installations, verify that adjacent cable bedding and routing do not compromise the joint's environmental protection.
