How to use

Connect the NT1 5th Generation to a computer via the supplied USB-C cable for plug-and-play digital recording or use the XLR output to route the microphone to an audio interface or mixer for an all-analog signal path. When recording digitally, install the free RØDE Central or RØDE Connect apps to access on-board DSP presets, APHEX® processing and firmware updates. For Windows systems that require advanced control and multi-microphone USB operation, install the custom RØDE ASIO driver to enable 32-bit float recording, input gain control and buffer-size adjustment. Mount the microphone in the supplied shock mount and use the pop filter to reduce plosives; position the capsule toward the sound source and adjust distance and orientation to achieve the desired tone and level.

Usage recommendations

For best results when capturing wide dynamic range sources (for example, drums or loud acoustic performances), record using the 32-bit float digital output to avoid clipping and preserve headroom.
