The RAIDSONIC IB-138SK-B-II is an aluminium mobile rack for SATA hard drives designed for installation in a drive bay. It connects to the motherboard via a SATA-to-SATA interface, supports SATA I/II/III with up to 6 Gbit/s transfer rates, and is available in black, silver or beige. The unit features a front cooling fan, an anti-dust front panel, LED indicators for power and HDD activity, and a keylock that acts as the power switch to prevent accidental power-on during transport.

How to use

Install the IB-138SK-B-II into a compatible 5.25" drive bay following your chassis instructions. Insert a 3.5" SATA HDD into the removable carrier and connect the carrier to the mobile rack. Use a SATA data cable to connect the rack to the motherboard and connect either the 15-pin SATA or 4-pin Molex power connector to the PSU. Close and lock the carrier to enable power to the drive. The front fan operates to provide active cooling while LEDs indicate power and HDD activity.

Usage recommendations

Use the keylock to cut power to the drive before removing the carrier to avoid data loss. Ensure compatible SATA cables and power connectors are used and allow airflow around the front fan for effective cooling.
