The ICY BOX IB-2817MCL-C31 is a black SSD enclosure that houses up to two M.2 NVMe SSDs and connects via USB Type-C at USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds (up to 10 Gbit/s). The aluminium housing provides durable protection and helps dissipate heat; heat conduction pads on the lid support temperature management during extended cloning or transfer operations. The enclosure supports bit-precise cloning of bootable media and full-drive backups with one-touch operation and status LEDs that indicate progress.
This aluminium M.2 enclosure offers space for two NVMe SSDs, enabling doubled external capacity in a single compact case. It supports fast data transfers up to 10 Gbit/s over USB 3.2 Gen 2 and provides direct thermal contact via heat conduction pads to keep drives cool under load. One-touch cloning and visible status LEDs simplify creating exact, bootable clones or full-drive backups without connecting to a host computer.
Open the enclosure, insert one or two compatible M.2 NVMe SSDs into the M.2 slots and secure them according to the included mounting points. Close the lid so the heat conduction pads make contact with the drives, connect the enclosure to a host using the supplied USB Type-C cable and power it via the USB port. For cloning, use the one-touch clone button to start a bit-precise clone operation; monitor progress using the status LEDs. For normal storage use, connect to a computer and access the drives as external NVMe storage.
Use compatible M.2 NVMe SSDs and ensure proper seating of drives and firm contact with the heat conduction pads. During long or intensive transfers, place the enclosure on a hard, flat surface to aid heat dissipation. Follow safety instructions from the SSD and enclosure manufacturers when performing cloning or firmware operations.
