The Icy Dock FatCage MB155SP-B is a 5-in-3 internal drive bay panel that fits three 5.25" bays and accepts up to five 3.5" SATA III drives with hot-swap capability. This lite version of the MB45X series removes monitoring features while keeping the core EZ-Tray hot-swap tray system and a three-year warranty. The unit uses 15-pin SATA power, a full-metal body and an included 92mm fan to improve cooling and reliability in RAID or multi-drive systems.

How to use

Install the MB155SP-B into three adjacent 5.25" front bays of your system chassis, secure the unit, and connect SATA data cables from each drive channel to your motherboard or RAID controller and the 15-pin SATA power cable from the PSU. Insert drives into the EZ-Trays, slide each tray into place until the rail mechanism locks, and press the release lever to remove drives. Configure your drives in BIOS or RAID controller software as required; the unit itself does not provide RAID control.

Usage recommendations

For balanced cooling and noise, set the fan jumper to Low for typical operation and switch to High only under sustained heavy load or elevated ambient temperatures. Use metal-latch SATA cables where possible for secure connections, and ensure unobstructed front-to-back airflow within the chassis for optimal drive temperatures.
