The Icy Dock EZ-Fit Lite MB290SP-B is a tool-free 2.5" drive tray that converts a single 3.5" internal bay to hold up to two 2.5" SATA or IDE SSD/HDD drives (7 mm–9.5 mm). Constructed from durable ABS plastic with an open, skeletal frame, the tray is designed to provide secure mounting, shock absorption and improved airflow. The MB290SP-1B variant ships with two SATA 7‑pin data cables and one SATA 15‑pin power Y-splitter for easier installation and reduced cable clutter.

How to use

Insert a 2.5" drive into one of the tray slots and push inward until the side tabs click and lock the drive in place. For the MB290SP-1B, connect each drive to the motherboard or controller using the supplied SATA data cables and connect power using the included Y-splitter if needed. Slide the assembled tray into an empty internal 3.5" bay and secure it using the chassis screws through the provided mounting holes. To remove or swap a drive, press the eject button and pull the drive out without removing the entire bracket from the chassis.

Usage recommendations

Install drives with the system powered off and grounded to avoid electrostatic discharge. Ensure cables are routed to avoid interfering with fans, and verify that your chassis has adequate airflow around the 3.5" bay to benefit from the tray's open design.
