The ToughArmor MB411SPO-B is a full-metal 2.5" SATA/SAS mobile drive rack designed to install into a slim ODD or slim FDD bay. Its ultra low-profile, nearly the size of a 2.5" drive, makes it suitable for systems with limited space such as OEM/ODM builds, embedded control systems, factory automation, rackmount computers and servers, and IPCs. The unit accepts a single 7–9.5 mm 2.5" HDD or SSD and provides hot-swap capability via the EZ Slide Micro tray.

How to use

Install the MB411SPO-B into a slim optical or floppy bay. To use in a slim FDD bay, remove the metal ODD bracket by unscrewing the three screws and detach the bracket from the device. Slide a compatible 2.5" HDD or SSD (7–9.5 mm) into the EZ Slide Micro tray, insert the tray into the enclosure until the latch secures it, and connect the appropriate SATA/SAS cable. The locking SATA latch will keep the cable secured. The front LED indicates drive activity and power status.

Usage recommendations

For reliable operation, use compatible 2.5" SATA or SAS drives rated for your application, ensure the host supports SAS when using SAS drives, and secure the drive with the eagle-hook latch before moving the system. Avoid exposing the metal enclosure to corrosive environments and maintain proper ventilation for passive cooling.
