The ICY DOCK ToughArmor EX MB492SKL-B is a dual-bay 2.5” mobile rack designed for industrial small form factor systems that require secure, high-density storage. Constructed with heavy-duty metal throughout, it fits two 2.5” drives into a single 3.5” front bay and supports SAS and SATA HDDs/SSDs at up to 6 Gbps while remaining backward compatible with 3 Gbps devices. The removable drive trays support 7–9.5 mm drive heights, enable hot-swap, and include drive ID plugs for easy identification.

Advantages

The full metal construction provides durability and compliance with flammability requirements, while the dual-lock design — a metal key lock plus a thumb screw — prevents unauthorized access and reduces tray vibration during transport. Active Power Technology (APT) conserves LED power by activating the status LED only when a drive is present.
