SSD enclosure Icy Dock MB601M2K-1B
The ToughArmor MB601M2K-1B is a 3.5" removable SSD enclosure designed for M.2 PCIe NVMe drives. It supports full NVMe bandwidth at 32 Gbps and fits all standard M.2 lengths. The enclosure uses a rugged full-metal housing and a high-durability connector to enable safe, repeated drive swaps while providing passive cooling and protection from vibration and dust.
The enclosure provides a removable tray that protects M.2 NVMe SSDs inside a metal shell and uses a connector rated for more than 10,000 insertions/removals, reducing wear on delicate M.2 contacts and allowing hot-swap style convenience. The adjustable M.2 locker secures drives without tiny screws and supports 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 lengths. Integrated aluminum heat dissipation, ventilation holes and an anti-vibration mechanism help maintain drive performance and longevity. Additional features include an LED activity indicator, a dust cover, a physical key lock for security, and rear metal support brackets to protect the SFF-8639 connector during insertion and removal.
Insert an M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD into the adjustable locker inside the tray and clip the locker into the SSD mounting hole to secure the drive without screws. Slide the tray into a 3.5" drive bay and connect the SFF-8639/U.2 cable to the host. Use the key lock if physical security is required. The LED indicates power and drive activity; it remains off when no drive is present. To remove or swap the drive, unlock (if applicable) and pull the tray out — the durable connector and rear support brackets guide and protect the connection during insertion and removal.
Use compatible M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs from trusted manufacturers and ensure proper system cooling. Avoid excessive force when inserting or removing the SFF-8639 connector; use the rear support brackets as a guide. Regularly keep the dust cover closed when the bay is unused to protect internal connectors.
