Drive bay panel Icy Dock MB602SPO-B
The ToughArmor MB602SPO-B is a rugged full-metal 5.25" drive bay panel that integrates two hot-swappable 2.5" drive bays (supports up to 15 mm height SSD/HDD, SATA and SAS) and one Slim/Ultra‑Slim optical disk drive bay (supports 12.7 mm and 9.5 mm CD/DVD/Blu-ray readers). Designed for industrial and mobile environments, the unit offers sturdy protection, removable trays with anti‑vibration features, individual drive status LEDs, and a user-configurable 40 mm cooling fan to maintain optimal drive temperatures.
The MB602SPO-B packs high-density storage and an optical drive into a single external 5.25" bay to maximize space efficiency. Its full-metal construction and EZ-slide metal trays provide enhanced shock and EMI protection for drives used in harsh conditions. The removable trays accept 2.5" drives up to 15 mm tall (including enterprise SAS drives) and the adaptable optical bracket supports both Slim 12.7 mm and Ultra‑Slim 9.5 mm drives. Additional conveniences include individual LEDs for each bay, a removable dust cover for the ODD bay, and locking-latch compatible SATA power/data connections.
Mount the MB602SPO-B into an available external 5.25" bay and secure it per your chassis instructions. Install 2.5" SSDs or HDDs into the EZ-slide trays and fasten them using the labeled screw holes. For Slim or Ultra‑Slim optical drives, place the drive into the adjustable optical bracket, secure the built‑in bracket screw and, if using a 9.5 mm ODD, fit the included foam spacer for a correct fit. Connect SATA data and power cables with locking latches to prevent accidental disconnection. Adjust the 40 mm fan setting (high, low, or off) according to drive type and cooling needs.
Use the fan at low or high depending on drive type — set to high for mechanical HDDs under heavy load, low or off for SSDs. Keep the dust cover installed when the optical bay is unused to reduce dust buildup, and ensure SATA locking cables are fully engaged for reliable operation in mobile or vibration-prone environments.
