The ToughArmor MB720M2K-B is a removable 4-bay M.2 NVMe enclosure designed for front-access installation in a 5.25" bay. It accepts up to four M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs (lengths 2230–22110) and connects via MiniSAS HD (SFF-8643) to provide up to 32 Gbps per bay. The metal enclosure and trays include an included barrel key lock and individual drive ID labels for easy identification and physical protection.

How to use

Place an M.2 NVMe SSD into a drive tray, slide the patent-pending adjustable M.2 locker to match the drive length and allow it to clip into the SSD mounting hole to secure and ground the drive. Insert the loaded tray into the front bay until it locks in place. Connect MiniSAS HD cables from each bay to the host adapter or backplane and attach a compatible 15-pin SATA power cable with a locking latch. Power on the system and select the desired fan speed as needed.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance, use PCIe x4 NVMe SSDs, ensure proper airflow in the host chassis, and enable an appropriate fan speed under sustained heavy load. Always ground yourself before handling drives and keep drive ID labels attached to maintain correct drive ordering in RAID or storage arrays.
