Carrier panel Icy Dock MB411SPO-2B
The ToughArmor MB411SPO-2B is a full-metal 2.5” SATA drive mobile rack designed to fit into a 9.5mm ultra slim optical disk drive (ODD) bay. It provides a removable EZ Slide Slim carrier tray that accepts 2.5” SATA HDDs and SSDs (5–7mm height) with hot-swap capability and supports SATA transfer speeds up to 6Gbps. The unit uses a single 13-pin slimline SATA connector for power and data, includes a front LED for drive status, and features a heavy-duty metal construction for long-term durability and compliance with flammability-sensitive environments.
The MB411SPO-2B converts a laptop or desktop 9.5mm ODD bay into a secure, hot-swappable 2.5” drive bay while preserving the exact form factor and mounting points of an ultra slim optical drive. Its full-metal housing and robust tray design improve drive protection and endurance, and the EZ Slide Slim carrier enables fast, tool-free drive swaps. Active Power Technology powers the device only when a drive is inserted, and the front LED gives continuous drive activity feedback.
Remove the laptop or system’s ultra slim ODD, attach any required rear mounting bracket from the original optical drive to the MB411SPO-2B, insert a compatible 2.5” SATA HDD or SSD into the EZ Slide Slim carrier tray, then slide the carrier into the ODD bay until it seats. Connect the system’s slimline 13-pin SATA interface and verify drive detection. Drives can be hot-swapped by pulling the carrier tray when the system allows safe removal.
Install drives with heights between 5mm and 7mm only. Before hot-swapping, ensure the operating system or hardware supports safe removal or use designated hot-swap utilities to prevent data loss. If the laptop optical bay included a rear bracket, transfer that bracket to the MB411SPO-2B to guarantee secure mounting.
