Camera Raspberry Pi Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 1920x1080 120fps
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 is a compact camera module for Raspberry Pi boards, featuring a 12MP IMX708 Quad Bayer sensor with High Dynamic Range (HDR) support. It provides Full HD 1920×1080 video capture and can reach high frame rates (up to 120 fps at lower resolutions), while offering options for standard or wide-angle optics and versions with or without an IR filter for night-vision use.
Camera Module 3 combines a high-resolution 12MP sensor with HDR processing and ultra-fast autofocus to deliver improved still-image quality and stable video capture. The wide variant expands the field of view to 120° for broader scenes, and the no-IR-filter option enables infrared imaging under IR illumination. Its small dimensions make it easy to integrate into Raspberry Pi projects, from surveillance to robotics and multimedia applications.
Connect the Camera Module 3 to the Raspberry Pi camera connector (CSI) following the Raspberry Pi hardware instructions, ensuring the cable is correctly oriented and the connector clamp is secured. Install or enable the appropriate camera drivers and software on the Raspberry Pi, then configure resolution and frame-rate settings in the camera application or via command-line tools. Select the wide or no-IR-filter model at the time of purchase according to your field-of-view and low-light requirements.
For best results, use adequate lighting for daytime capture and active IR illumination when using the no-IR-filter variant for night imaging. Adjust HDR and autofocus settings in software to balance dynamic range and motion handling; reduce resolution to achieve higher frame rates when required for real-time applications.
